Small Fix Applied
I recently noticed that a small bug had crept into the army performance page of the site. A rogue “$” was eradicated and now works as intended. Well at least it looks good from Lynx, since I’m still rebuilding a FreeBSD install.

A better haystack
I have too many paint pots… way too many! Before it used to take me a while to find a certain pot in the middle of the mess that was my desk. No more! I re-tasked Arenaworks from WorldWorks games as an equivalent paint rack with pretty good results. Now I can find any paint pot at a glance, which is a big big big time saver and (woe to my pocketbook) it’s expandable. The whole thing is also a testament to how strong the paper models really are. There are 50 paint pots spread over the 5 terraces ...

Workbench Reset
The miniature workbench display had to be reset. The internal structure was reworked to something a little bit more scalable and thus the existing data wasn’t compatible anymore. (read: I couldn’t be bothered to write a conversion script.)

Reaper Minis: the old switcharoo
I got my Reaper paints today straight from Reaper. Yup, it’s a very quick turnaround for an international order. The reason why it tool 3-4 days instead of 2-3 weeks was that they switched shipping methods on me. So instead of using good old USPS as stated on my bill they went ahead and used FedEx.
That means I’m out an additional $10 due to brokerage fees that never would have had to pay if they had used USPS. So for a $45 paint order, it cost me (in total) $32 dollars in shipping. Needless to say that ...

Ordered Reaper Master Series Paints
After reading quite a few favorable reviews and looking at the color range offered, I decided to change my “skintone” paint palette to Reaper Master Series paints. I bought a couple of triads for light skin (Khador), medium skin (Protectorate), and dead skin (Zombies and other assorted VC models). I was also running out of silver so I got that as well. We’ll see how they measure up to my current Vallejo line, as it is becoming prohibitive to go buy the Model Color paints due to how far I need to drive to pick them up.
These were ...
